My name is Amy Murphy and I hold an LMSW licensure. I graduated from Georgia State University in 2018 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Since graduating, I have been working at an Emory University lab that studies trauma and PTSD. I completed my Masters in Social Work from University of Georgia in 2024, and continue my work in trauma research while maintaining my private practice.

I have a strong background in psychology, social work, and trauma-informed care. I work closely with my clients to create a safe, caring, and judgment-free space. I am comfortable working with people who have left high control groups, and I am also comfortable working with people who deal with reproductive chronic illness and pain conditions.

In addition to therapy, I’m also passionate about research, education, and advocacy. I believe in using research-backed methods and am dedicated to improving our understanding of trauma and its effects, while also raising awareness about mental health care. Through workshops, community outreach, and working with other professionals, I strive to make a positive impact on those affected by trauma.

When I am not working, I am hanging out with my two teenagers and being ignored by my cats. I also love all things fitness and all things coffee.
